Research Scientist I - Department lead Applied Biotechnologies

Biography

I am a graduate of UMF Carol Davila Bucharest, Faculty of General Medicine, and I hold the title of specialist M.F. Since 1998 I obtained the title of Doctor in Biological Sciences, with a PhD thesis entitled "Regenerative processes under the influence of collagen-based bioproducts applied to traumatized tissue".

I have experience in bioeconomics, medical and pharmaceutical biotechnologies and healthcare. My research has focused on cellular and molecular level studies of tissues and organs in interaction with internal and external factors such as biostimulants, growth factors, UV radiation, chemicals and physical factors, using in vitro and in vivo experimental models to evaluate the possibilities of protection.

We have contributed to the realisation and development of biomaterials and bioproducts with biomedical applications, based on natural components such as collagen biopolymers, proteoglycans, synthetic polymers and other biologically active principles, including growth factors.

Over the course of my career, I have obtained 63 patents and patent applications listed on the EPO espacenet and was awarded the Diploma of Merit for outstanding results at the 2019 Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions by the Ministry of Research and Innovation. I have been honoured with more than 50 medals and awards at the Geneva and Eureka Brussels International Invention Salons.
