The National Research and Development Institute for Biological Sciences is a partner in the Project "Integrated research and sustainable solutions to protect and restore Lower Danube Basin and coastal Black Sea ecosystems / Integrated research and sustainable solutions to protect and restore Lower Danube Basin and coastal Black Sea ecosystems" ResPonSE, code 18/16.11.2022funded by National Recovery and Resilience Plan Call no. PNRR-III-C9-2022 - I5 Establishment and operationalisation of Competence Centres.

Project beneficiaries: University of Bucharest (coordinator), Dunărea de Jos University of Galati (partner P1), Babeș-Bolyai University Cluj-Napoca (partner P2), Ovidius University of Constanta (partner P3), National Institute for Research and Development in Biological Sciences (partner P4), SC ICPE Bistrița SA (partner P5), SC Beia Consult International SRL (partner P6), SC Iceberg Plus SRL (partner P7), SC Centrul de Mediu și Sănătate SRL (partner P8) and SC DDS Diagnostic SRL (partner P9).

The objectives of the project are: Establishment and operationalization of a Centre of Competence coordinated by the University of Bucharest within the framework of the EU Horizon Europe mission "Healthy Oceans, Inland Waters and Coastal Zone (Restore our Ocean and Waters)"; strengthening of a national network of excellence; establishment of public-private partnerships; upgrading research, development and innovation resources, including equipment and infrastructure and facilitating access to external users; attracting and retaining highly qualified human resources for research, development, innovation activities; supporting central and local public authorities, non-governmental sector organisations to address societal challenges in specific Horizon Europe missions.

Total amount of the grant contract: 18 749 960 lei excluding VAT
