Novel biotechnologies for complex valorisation of plant by-products for prevention and control of pathogens in agro-ecosystems

Description

Currently, one of the biggest challenges of the R&D sector is the development of efficient strategies for the valorisation of agro-food wastes in order to obtain innovative products within the circular bioeconomy. In this context, our project proposes the valorisation of plant by-products from aromatic plants (S. officinalis, R. officinalis, L. angustifolia, F. vulgare) in the form of hydrosols by complex biotechnologies in order to obtain active products against pathogens in agro-ecosystems. In the framework of the project, the partners from CDI (INCDSB) and SME (Hofigal Export Import S.A.) sectors will develop new formulations of biopesticides and fungicides with functional properties and will establish treatment protocols through experiments on plant cultures validating the efficacy and safety in vitro and in vivo in the laboratories of both partners.
