Valorisation of plant resources with bioactive components through integrated processes for a sustainable bioeconomy
Description
In the framework of this project, different plant species from the Danube Delta and N-E Moldavia area, species containing bioactive components, have been valorised phytochemically (bioactive compounds content) and genetically (genetic variability study, DNA-barcoding), with the aim to contribute to the development of a sustainable and sustainable bio-economy in less developed and exploited areas of Romania. These plant resources can be utilised to obtain new food formulas/food supplements and functional foods that can be exclusively attributed as 'local brands' that can be exploited by the inhabitants of this area. The new products could be used in the phytotherapy of various ailments.
